February 2010 Haul

I've been very nail polish oriented this month, lol...I've managed to keep the makeup buying to a minimum but didn't help me out much with balance because I ended up buying nail polish, haha! There has been a few returns and one regret....I bought a nail polish set from Cherry Culture but was super disappointed so I did not include in this photo...Overall, I'm really happy with my purchases!

The Orly green NP is called Wandering Vine, which is a green creme, extremely pigmented and easy to work with-I love it! I picked up that one at my local grocery store. The other Orly (purple) is called Charged up...a slightly jelly like purple, which is totally opaque in 2 coats, love this one too.

Nina pro nail polish and the red CG is from Sally's. Nina pro one is called Cherri Berri-a jelly-like red with a hint of raspberry but is really good in 2 coats....CG one is called Go Crazy Red which is a true red polish with tiny gold frost....

As I previously mentioned, I bought a few things from Cherry Culture from their 20% off sale the other day and I decided to try out some NYX round lipsticks and got Paris, Thalia, Orange Soda, and Gem...well, I love Paris, Gem and Orange Soda, but not sure what all the hype was about Thalia, which was not a good color, it was severely gray and purple-like, I may just toss it out...

I found a pretty limited edition polish from Maybelline called Pie in the Sky, such a pretty color! I've tried matching it to other colors in the NP world, the only color that comes close is Orly, Cashmere Cardigan, it's not exactly right on but it's quite close...

At Walgreens I got a few more Sinful's: All Mighty, Innocent, See you soon, Let's talk, and Green Ocean.
The 2 Sally Hansen Xtreme wears I got at CVS, Flirt and Blue me away!

The Revlon quads I got at my local grocery store were about $2.40 each, I got them with a 3 or 4 dollar off coupon which I was really excited about...the colors are Copper Spice and Neutral Khakis.

I do love my Beauty Rush lipglosses which I couldn't help but pick up more on a recent trip to the mall....so I got Orange you Glad, Mocktail hour, Red delicious, Bananas, and Taffy go lucky...I must admit that the Pink and Coral looking one remind me so much of the MAC lip gelee glosses that came out with the Lillyland collection.
NYX eyeliner is in Sapphire which I got from a local clothing store....

and last but not least is my Viva Glam haul....Gaga and Cyndi (not pictured) and I also got a backup of Gaga!

Most Loved Makeup for February 2010

Faves time!
It isn't much but I think it was due to my current obsession with nail polishes. I'm still doing my makeup everyday but I've been very neutral and simple everyday, nothing that really stands out, which reminds me I have to post a few FOTD's in the next few days...I've been slacking!
Anyways, here is my list, Have a wonderful weekend!

-Physicians Formula bronzer in Baked Bronze, I love using this as a contour and blush, very pretty as it has tiny gold glitter in it, which is sparse so it's not too much.
-MAC PPOT in Blackground and Constructivist, I love using these for my 5 minute makeup face, I grab it with my MAC brush 217 and I can blend away without worrying about fall-out.
-MAC pigment in Provence, Such a nice color for highlight.
-MAC Concealer in NC30, to cover my stupid scars on my forehead from any acne :D
-Bobbi Brown lipstick in Pink Beige, I love using this neutral color because it covers all pigment in my lips and is super creamy, semi-matte and lasts a long time.
-Too Faced lipstick in Totally Nude, One of my absolute faves...I neglected and found it again, now I can't stop wearing it :)

Biore gel cleanser

Good morning all! I'm so glad it's Friday!

So I've been looking for a deep cleansing face soap....one that is deep cleansing enough to remove all my stubborn makeup but was not too harsh for my skin....meaning I didn't want it to feel really tight and dry after washing...I hate that...but I did need for it to be super cleansing to remove all my eye makeup and all traces of foundation....I used to love using my orange deep clean by Neutrogena but found that it was way too harsh for my skin....although it did a great job I was looking for something a little more gentler and cheap.....I love using the Cleansing Oil by MAC but I can't afford a bottle of that stuff especially if I'll be using it on a daily basis, the same for the MAC wipes....I do love my MAC wipes but even those are expensive for using everyday...not to mention it is just a wipe which I would end up needing a little soap to wash my face overall afterwords anyway....So I went back to my all-time favorite Noxema, but to me I like Noxema for those days that I don't wear makeup....it calms and soothes my skin, cleans away dirt and other 'things' in the air....I love the way it makes my skin feel but it was not a makeup remover soap.....so I trailed on back to the store to do some more research and found Biore.

Now I love Biore for their nose strips....you know those little sticky paper strips that you apply to your nose and chin to remove those nasty black heads....but I never really looked into their face soap or skincare line. They have 2 or 3 other soaps to choose from but I chose this one because it was less confusing and simple to understand....it's a soap that removes all traces of makeup, cleanses your skin without disturbing the natural balance in your skin....I loved that! So indeed I was anxious to try it out.

The soap is a gel soap....light green in color and is not harsh at all...The afterwards feel of my skin: clean but yet still moisturized but not oily at all....My face felt smooth and supple. I use 2 pumps to remove eye makeup and about 2 - 3 pumps for my entire face (a little goes a long way). I bought mine at a local grocery store, but I'm not sure if I've seen them in CVS or Walgreens. I paid $7 for mine.

Now when I ever try out a new makeup remover cleanser soap I always do my severe and dramatic eye and face makeup test...I use UDPP for the shadows and I also used a dark liner to line my brows and I went over them about 3 times to really work it in! Not only did I layer on the shadows about 3 times but I made sure to use those high-pigmented shadows.

(haha, I look so funny, just for soap testing purposes, do not try this look at home!)

....I load up my face with the blackest eyeshadow, the darkest eyeliner, and the most stay put mascara I own, I wait a few minutes then I go wash up.....
Pretty good....Actually I was really impressed!

The Biore removed all traces of makeup and foundation....rinsing off the soap was very easy - I wanted to throw that in there since some face soaps tend to be too thick and you end up splashing more and more water to try to rinse it off, but this one was really easy to rinse off. I usually dry my face with a pure, true white, bleached, dry wash cloth that I use only on my face and I try to see if any residue or colors show up on the wash cloth, but didn't see any at all so this soap is a winner! I love the way the Biore smells too! Not too strong, very light and airy....I can't describe the smell other than it smells clean and comforting...if I may say, it has small notes of aloe and green tea or something of that sort.

But very interesting to see other's answers so feel free to complete this also! I was going to make a video but not sure yet : /

Valentine's recap: I made these for my 3 favorite Valentines guys at home...They were soooooooo good! I also made banana's and pineapple!

Must Have: Milani 3D Holographic Nail Lacquer!

Chubby Fingers Alert! I had been looking for some nail lacquer Holo's and felt it was perfect timing when I happened to walk right into these babies :) The Milani 3D Holographic nail lacquer....I bought three out of the six that they had, or is it seven? I'm not sure but I love these!! I know China Glaze has a Holo collection but I'll have to look into it to see if it's still available....The Milani 3D Holo's are very affordable....I just paid $3.99 for mine....Please let me know what you think of my Nails of the Day Foto, I really don't like doing Nail posts since my nails are so short and my hands are so FAT, lol!!! But I made an exception since I loooove this color and this collection so much :)
So this is the color I'm wearing called Hi-Tech....A very nice lime green...Holo's are very noticable with this one....
Here are the other two I got, Digital which is a dirty rose color and Hi-Res which is a lilac lavender color.... Holo's are outstanding in the Digital and Hi-Tech but not so much in the Hi-Res which is why I'm returning it on Monday so I can test out the other colors!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

January Haul 3 of 3

I've sort of been on a nail polish kick, I think this is my second one like in the past 6 months....anyways, I've been debating whether or not to just buy OPI at Ulta or simply order them online (transdesign) for a bit cheaper, the only problem with that is that you can't see the true color. But in spite of all that I just decided to pick up a few colors anyways! This is my last haul of January and I have already picked up more stuffies, including nail polishes but that won't be featured until my February haul.

So on to the details :)

During the Sephora clearance I got the Cargo lipduo in Oulu, which one side is a jelly balm berry color-very sheer and the other a frosty lavender, sheer as well. I got the Cargo eye quad in Tahiti (this one I've been dying to get but could not since it was so expensive, I have the neutral one).
A few things from Sally's: My 2 nail files by Soft Touch extra fine, China Glaze NP In the Limelight-neon, Pro NP in Molten Copper, and I found a California Mango Hand/nail care kit for $4.99.
At Trade Secrets I got OPI NP Pink-ing of you, Short's Story, and Essie's Mint Candy Apple (which I've been eyeing!)...and if you use the new Trade Secrets membership you get 10% off each time you shop. The OPI Melon of Troy I got from Target.
I found a few Sally Hansen items at my local Dollar store so I got 2 18 hr lip treatments in Clear Pink...Clear Nude is not pictured, 3 Comfort Shine Lip glazes in Cupcake, Sugar Cookie, and Fresh Strawberry, and 2 Sally Hansen Collagen lip lifts in Sheer Spa Sandalwood and Sheer passionate pink. All $1 each.
From my last haul I returned MAC in Lillyland Pearlmatte because the color was not intense enough and my Strobe cream because I couldn't tell a difference in my complexion, I switched those out for a lipstick in Freckletone.
Last but not least I bought some Bissu eye quads in #30 and 35 from my pal in Dallas. Theses are really good, they are super pigmented and can only be found in Mexico from what she told me.

January 2010 Faves

It isn't much but I do have some other items that are constantly my favorite's such as my MAC SFF, my Prescriptives camo concealer and my Urban Decay primer potion...I felt it wouldn't be entertaining to have the same exact things on my faves list each month :) haha, then it wouldn't be called the faves of the month, it would just be my HG list. lol
Anyways, I'm sorry this is so late coming, I took some pics like on the last weekend of January and they all came out blurry, not good. Because my camera has been acting weird, possibly because of the settings, I decided to take this pic in natural lighting, I hope you can see it! I'm hoping to get a better camera sometime next month :)

These are the items that I've been attracted to every day, when I go to work I throw these in my makeup bag and all together creates beautiful results....I just don't have time to take it off if I don't like the way it looks but with these items I can never go wrong! :)

here is my list:
-Cosmedicine Honest Face tinted moisturizer Medium
-Milani Glimmerstrips in Berry Glimmer
-MAC lipstick in Syrup
-Urban Decay lipgloss in Doug
-Line Stiletto by Maybelline
-Covergirl Professional mascara in black
